TAS 1000 takes its name from the Sanyo Telephone Answering System Model 1000 (TAS 1000). A beautiful chuncky beige answering machine made by the Sanyo company in the late 80s. In a nutshell, Matt Krysko was doing some thrifting at the Value Village near Victoria and just happened to find an old answering machine still working and with messages still on the tapes. Being the musically inclined person he is, he bought it and within a span of a couple of weeks, he and his uni buddies put together an album: TAS 1000: A Message for Marta.
